Out of the mouths of babes...

Ok, so this isn't really out of the mouth of a babe, but an 11th grader isn't that far from a babe...especially if you're that 11th grader's parent.

Anyway, Jack tells me that when he asked his faith formation class about "Ordinary Time", one of them responded by saying that was the time between when Jesus was born and when he died.

So what happened in that time? The poor were paid attention to, deaf people could hear, the powerful were boldly challenged, dead men walked out of the tomb, a few loaves and fishes fed thousands....ordinary time?

Maybe that's what ordinary time should look like. Maybe what we think of as ordinary is really not because we're looking at the wrong things. And maybe what we look at as miracles are really ordinary things in the reign of God.

Maybe the world would be at peace if we all spent more time in "ordinary time".
